Colleges Offering TAGs for Ohlone Students
Important Announcements
- San Jose State University no longer offers a Transfer Admission Guarantee program for Fall 2010 admission and beyond.
You may sign up to two (2) TAGs per academic year. The following institutions offer Transfer Admission Guarantees to Ohlone students for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Transfer Admission Guarantee
The UC Davis TAG program offers guaranteed admission in the major of choice through a formal, written agreement that outlines the courses a student must complete and the grade point average that must be earned before transferring. Please note: Ohlone College does not participate in the UC Davis Winter TAG program.
The UC Davis TAG program accepts international student applicants.
Students must:
- Minimum 2.80-3.10 G.P.A. depending on your major
- Complete 30 transferable units to sign agreement
- Full time status
To sign a TAG with UC Davis, make an appointment with an Ohlone Counselor.
UC Davis TAG filing period:
- Fall 2010: September 1-30, 2009 *
* The last day to see an Ohlone counselor to sign the UC Davis TAG is Monday, September 28, 2009.

Transfer Admission Guarantee
The UC Irvine TAG program guarantees admission to well-qualified students from all California community colleges. Completing the TAG Checklist process in combination with applying to UC Irvine will result in an early admissions evaluation. Admission to most majors at UC Irvine can be guaranteed through TAG for transfer students who meet the eligibility requirements and complete the procedure required to obtain a transfer admission guarantee.
The UC Irvine TAG program accepts international student applicants. This program does not accept students with international coursework.
Students must:
- Complete one transferable English class before signing of contract with a ‘C’ or better
- Complete one transferable Math class before signing of contract with a ‘C’ or better
- Minimum 3.0 G.P.A.
- Complete their last 30 semester UC transferable units at one or more California Community Colleges
Students are encouraged to meet with an Ohlone Counselor to verify eligibility for the UC Irvine TAG. To sign a TAG with UC Irvine, complete the UC Irvine TAG Checklist.
UC Irvine TAG filing deadline:
- Fall 2010: September 1, 2009 - October 15, 2009
- Winter 2010: To be determined

Transfer Admission Guarantee
The UC Merced TAG program offers guaranteed admission in the major of choice through a formal, written agreement that outlines the courses a student must complete and the grade point average that must be earned before transferring. TAG students also receive individualized academic advising from a UC Merced transfer advisor.
The UC Merced TAG program accepts international student applicants.
Students must:
- Complete 27 transferable units
- Have a minimum 2.8-3.1 G.P.A. depending on your major
- Both UC English and UC math courses must be completed by the end of Spring term prior to Fall admission, and by the end of Summer term prior to Winter admission.
To sign a TAG with UC Merced, make an appointment with an Ohlone Counselor.
UC Merced TAG filing period:
- Fall 2010: September 1, 2009 - November 1, 2009
- Spring 2011 * : April 1, 2010 - July 1, 2010

Transfer Admission Guarantee
The UC Riverside TAG program offers guaranteed admission, as a junior-level transfer, in the major of choice through a formal, written agreement that outlines the courses a student must complete and the grade point average that must be earned before transferring.
The UC Riverside TAG program does not accept international student applicants.
Students must:
- Complete 30 transferable units to sign agreement
- Have a 2.80-3.00 G.P.A. dependent on your major
- Complete all English and Math courses for UC eligibility with a C or better prior to signing agreement
- All coursework must be completed at a California Community College

Transfer Admission Guarantee
The UC San Diego Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) program offers guaranteed admission to students who complete a core set of courses at a California community college prior to transferring to UC San Diego. This program does not guarantee admission to a particular major, nor does it guarantee choice of one of the six UCSD colleges.
The UC San Diego TAG program does not accept international student applicants. The program does accept students with international coursework.
Students must:
- Have a minimum 3.0 G.P.A.
- Both UC English and UC math courses must be completed by the end of Fall term prior to Fall admission
- Send IGETC certification to UCSD by July 15, 2010
Students are encouraged to meet with an Ohlone Counselor to verify eligibility for the UC San Diego TAG. To participate in TAG with UC San Diego, indicate UCSD TAG and IGETC within the online UC application.

Transfer Admission Guarantee
The UC Santa Barbara TAG program guarantees admission to well-qualified students from all California community colleges. Admission to most majors at UC Santa Barbara can be guaranteed through TAG for transfer students who meet the eligibility and major preparation coursework requirements.
The UC Santa Barbara TAG program accepts international student applicants. This program does not accept students with international coursework.
Students must:
- Have a minimum 3.0 G.P.A.
- Complete at least 60 UC transferable units by end of Spring 2009
- Complete their last 30 semester UC transferable units at one or more California Community Colleges
To sign a TAG with UC Santa Barbara, either:
- complete a TAG form with an Ohlone Counselor; or
- indicate UCSB TAG within the online UC application
UC Santa Barbara Fall 2009 TAG filing period:
- October 31, 2009 (TAG form)
- November 30, 2009 (online UC application)

Transfer Admission Guarantee
The UC Santa Cruz TAG program guarantees admission to well-qualified students from all California community colleges. Choice of major is not guaranteed through the UC Santa Cruz TAG program; however, the Baskin School of Engineering will review approved TAG agreements for possible acceptance into the major.
The UC Santa Cruz TAG program accepts international student applications. This program does not accept students with international coursework.
Students must:
- Complete 30 transferable units to sign agreement
- Minimum 3.00 G.P.A.
- Have less than 20 semester or 30 quarter units completed at a four year institution
To sign a TAG with UC Santa Cruz, make an appointment with an Ohlone Counselor.
UC Santa Cruz TAG filing period:

Transfer Admission Guarantee
Cal State East Bay's Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) program is designed for prospective transfer students who began their college education at a community college. Combined with early advising prior to submitting an application for admission, TAG helps to ensure the completion of required and recommended coursework for admission, general education completion, and lower division major requirements. CSU East Bay will waive the CSU admission application fee for approved TAG applicants.
The CSU East Bay TAG program does not accept international student applicants. This program does not accept students applying to the Nursing or Business Administration major.
Students must:
- Complete a minimum of 12 transferable units to sign agreement
- Be a California resident
- Complete at least 60 semester transferable units with a 2.0 G.P.A. by end of Spring for Fall admission
- Complete Oral Communications, Written Communications, Critical Thinking, and Quantitative Mathematics with a ‘C’ or better grade by end of Spring for Fall admission
To sign a TAG with CSU East Bay, make an appointment with an Ohlone Counselor.

Transfer Admission Guarantee
Students at participating community colleges may develop Transfer Admission Guarantee contracts with CSU Monterey Bay. Students admitted to CSU Monterey Bay through the TAG program receive a CSU Admission Application fee waiver.
Students must:
- Be a California resident
- Complete at least 60 semester transferable units with a 2.0 G.P.A. by end of Spring for Fall admission
- Complete Oral Communications, Written Communications, Critical Thinking, and Quantitative Mathematics with a ‘C’ or better grade by end of Spring for Fall admission

Transfer Admission Guarantee
Guaranteed admission to Golden Gate University is available!
GGU will work closely with admitted TAG students in selecting appropriate transferable Ohlone courses, maximize financial aid opportunities, and provide support through the application process. A maximum of 70 semester units may be transferred from a regionally accredited community college.
The Golden Gate University TAG program does accept international students.
Golden Gate University will waive the admission application fee for accepted TAG applicants.
Students must:
- Have completed a minimum of 24 transferable units
- Have a minimum 2.5 G.P.A. *
- Satisfy the English Language Proficiency Requirement
* Students with a 2.75 or higher G.P.A. may be eligible for an Academic Excellence Scholarship.

Transfer Admission Guarantee
Students entering into a contract with Santa Clara University are required to complete specified courses in order to guarantee admission. Some majors also have additional required courses. Minimum unit requirements do not include Summer 2009 coursework or courses completed as CR/NC or P/NP.
The Santa Clara University TAA program accepts international student applications. This program does not accept students with international coursework.
Students must:
- Have a minimum 3.3-3.5 G.P.A. dependent on your major
- Complete at least 30 transferable semester units, including required courses, by the end of Spring 2009
