Dates, times, and locations are subject to change. Please check this web page frequently. Unless otherwise noted, transfer workshops are held at the Fremont campus.

These events are open to only Ohlone College students.

CSU Sacramento Transfer Information Session

Exploring Private Colleges as a Transfer Option

All colleges and universities offer students a myriad of opportunities and experiences, but sometimes students are unsure and have questions about private colleges and institutions. Attend this workshop to gain a basic understanding for and better explore transfer options with private institutions. Topics covered include:

• Differences between private and public colleges and universities
• For-profit and Non-profit institutions
• Affording a private education
• Specialty schools
• Liberal arts colleges… what are they and why might it be a good fit for me?
• Assessing for educational fit
• Debunking myths about private institutions

FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Workshops

Completing the FAFSA is the first step to obtaining financial aid and paying for college after you transfer. Students still waiting transfer admissions decisions should still submit the FAFSA by March 2nd for all potential Fall 2012 transfer destinations. Some institutions require the FAFSA much earlier.

Please review the instructions provided by the Ohlone College Financial Aid Office regarding the “PIN Number” and “Documents Needed”, prior to attending a FAFSA workshop.

Financial Aid for Transfer Students

Come learn about financial aid and what transfer students should keep in mind when planning academically and financially for university transfer.

Topics covered include:

• What is financial aid and why apply for it?
• Do I apply for financial aid after I’ve been admitted to the university? (The answer is no, so come find out why.)
