Ohlone College Banner Images - Web Style Guide

A 665-pixel-wide Ohlone College banner image may be used at the top of any web page instead of using the official Ohlone College logo in the top left corner of the page. Each web page must also include an Ohlone College Standard Footer.

  • The banner image should be centered at the very top of the web page (inside the <body> tag).
  • The content for the web page should be placed beneath the banner image.
  • Banner images are located in a centralized directory on the web server. There is no need to copy or download the banner images to your website directory.
  • The banner image should not be modified in size, color, content, or in any other way.
  • Do not create your own banner images. Contact the Web Team to have a custom banner created.
  • Use only the banner images provided (or create your own layout, design and graphics from scratch following all guidelines of the Web Style Guide).
  • Each banner image requires an <img> tag and a <map> tag.
  • Do not remove the <map> tag; it is required by the navigation links.

How to Use a Banner Image

  • Select the "View full size image and get the (X)HTML" link under the desired banner image.
  • In the page that opens, select and copy either the HTML or the XHTML markup for the image.
  • Paste the copied markup into the web page you're creating.
  • The image will display when the web page is viewed in a browser on a computer that is connected to the Internet.
