Topics of Discussion

  • Quick Topics:
    • Update re Academic (Dis)Honesty Policy name
    • Periodic emailed Web Team newsletters began in December 2002; also available on Web Team website
  • Site additions/changes since our last meeting:
    • Converted Newark Ohlone Center website to standard templates in January 2003
    • Replaced "blue bruise" graphic with graphic header of same size which uses official colors and standard site design (the centrally stored graphic and image map code were changed, not the graphic and code in individual website directories)
    • Modified ColdFusion program generating the Employee Directory and replaced its image buttons to stylize output similar to the standard site design
    • Added Board of Trusteees Student Member Awards
    • Added Faculty/Staff-specific announcements on the Faculty/Staff Resources pages
    • Added "All" link in the A-Z Index
      • Question: Should A-Z Index link display "A" page or "All" page?
    • Added Google search as an option on the Search page
    • "Fine tuned" the Location Key on the Fremont Campus Map page; College Relations is working on new maps for both campuses
    • Added these new "core" pages:
      • Directions to Ohlone College
      • Emergency Telephone Numbers
      • Food Services
  • Webalizer site statistics
  • Status of Web Team-managed sites:
    • 46 websites currently being managed by the Web Team with more coming up when content is received
    • Discussion re Web Team's management of Committee and Other Group (except unions) websites
    • Discussion re Web Team's management of Faculty websites (including contact information, photograph (optional), current semester schedule, links to a syllabus for each course taught, links to grades information for each course taught)
  • Discussion re Faculty Spotlight (by Paula Cassano)
  • Upcoming Web Team tasks:
    • Disabled Access to the Campus
    • Offer Website Accessibility Workshops
    • Offer a Dreamweaver MX Template for Faculty websites (can be used as a "master document" instead of a Dreamweaver MX "Template")
    • Offer a Dreamweaver MX Template for Division/Department websites (can be used as a "master document" instead of a Dreamweaver MX "Template")
    • (with Tj in IS Dept.) Web server maintenance and change name of web servers to "ohlone.edu" (so relative and root links will default to that domain name instead of ohlone.cc.ca.us)
