(These are not comprehensive notes. Summarized on August 8, 2005 - yes, I'm a bit late! - from Cheryl's handwritten notes taken during the meeting.)

Review the 5/10/2004 Agenda.

Members Present

Bob Bradshaw, Paula Cassano, Kevin Kirk, Cheryl Lambert, Mark Lieu, Shirley Peck, Rob Smedfjeld, Barbara Tull (from 2:15pm), and Lisa Waits (to 3:40pm).

Agenda Items

  • OK, 10/2003 meeting notes
  • Curriculum Guides website published - will begin removing CG information from academic department/division sites and linking to CG site instead
  • Web Team has Acrobat 6 now - will read through User Guide especially re accessibility features
  • Review possible new design
    • Mark: Likes current design with image integrated into header
    • Lisa: Likes current design - new one: too busy looking
  • Talk with Patrice re Foundation site
  • Need to trim home page:
    • Explore: buttons for Events, News…to separate pages; try revolving too
    • Trim A&R, Program Announcements…
    • Maybe move "start here…" banner
  • Doug Treadway wants logo redesigned based on "Ohlone Way" - by Fall 2004 (start)
    • New logo ==> may mean new marketing; new website??? - Lisa will get Cheryl on the committee
  • Status of:
    • Web Team sites: 111 plus draft HR (Judy Masters providing content); several in progress; plus projects; Joanne Schultz organizing content for Business Services departments websites
    • Jim Wright - about 6 months of emails (from Dec. 2003 Dean's meeting) with me and deans re getting content from deans for department websites
      • Go to Wed. meeting - Lisa & Jim Dean's joint meeting ==> bring "hits" info; bring printouts of Moorpark College program/dept. page
      • Mark: Are Division sites necessary?
  • Web Style Guide - Cheryl: revamp to make more "reasonable" (CSS, web standards)
    • Mark: Phase in parts over a longer period of time
    • Create a meet/don't meet checklist for accessibility of non-Web Team sites
  • Mark: What Web Task Force do from now on?
    • re-envision what committee does?
  • Mark: Lack of motivation to provide info for department sites
    • Catalog as source?
    • Lisa: "hits" info may be useful
      • Cheryl: send this out
    • Mark: minimum one page with Dean contact and link to curriculum Guide (Rob, Bob agrees to not do more); email to faculty/deans re "here's what I put up, anything more…send to us")
  • Barbara: Flex - take photo of department members at each meeting?
  • Barbara: Department email addresses?
  • Mandy Kwok-Yip: project to write "Career Opps" for each department
  • WebCT will be outsourced through CVC WebCT servers
  • "www3" server for faculty with websites on "online" server
    • Reasons for "online" server:
      • FTP from outside campus
      • Avoid Publisher's Workbench
      • Publish "live" (skip dev2)
      • Bob: Mac servers are under utilized - use one for "www3"?
  • Wed. Flex Day in August - Rob - New faculty campus tour
  • Possible Flex Day workshop:
    • BASIC: Photo, name, content (schedule); Mark used a text file; could use template
    • Mark: Help setup a workshop; accessibility of their own site
    • Bob: Have digital cameras available at Jackson Theatre for faculty photos for their website
