To Deans, Faculty, Directors, and Staff:

On the home page for the new Ohlone College website, the Web Task Force
wants to include links to articles and web pages highlighting academic
programs, announcing upcoming events, and providing current news about
the college. The new website is scheduled to be launched at the end of
this month. The Web Team needs your ongoing assistance to provide this
content so that the home page will remain fresh, current and
interesting.

We want to include about 3 events and 3 news items at a time, depending
on the length of the items. The most current items will be included over
items coming up in later months. The Web Team will remove outdated
events or old news items as soon as possible.

These content items may be written by Deans, faculty, staff, or
students. In particular, the type of content we are seeking includes:

  * articles highlighting academic programs
  * announcements for upcoming campus events, such as student events and
theater performances
  * current news related to the college

To be considered for inclusion on the home page, the following
information must be provided to the Web Team:

  1. A short title and one or two descriptive sentences (between 100-240
characters).
  2. The full URL (i.e., link address) of the web page where additional
information can be found. This web page must exist and be posted on your
campus website prior to sending the home page item to the Web Team. The
Web Team is managing the home page content, but will not be creating the
additional information web pages.
  3. (optional) One small image related to the content item. The image
must be 60 pixels wide and between 60-85 pixels in high. It must be
provided in JPG or GIF format.

The title, text or image for an item may be revised to fit the format
and "voice" of the home page. The Web Task Force and Web Team may elect
to not include an item.

Items for inclusion on the home page (title, one-two sentences and
image) should be submitted by email to the Web Team at
clambert@ohlone.cc.ca.us. Remember to have the web page the item links
to posted on your web page before submitting.

The Web Team will need this home page content on an ongoing basis, not
just once or twice a year. Thank you for your assistance in keeping the
new website fresh.
