Content vs. Design

Content precedes design. Design in the absence of content is not design, it’s decoration.
—Jeffrey Zeldman

The Web Team consists of the College's Web Designer, Cheryl Lambert. (It's been just me since my part-time student assistant left in June 2004.) The Web Team is part of the Office of College Advancement.

The Web Team is responsible for the design, markup, display, and accessibility of the Ohlone College website at www.ohlone.edu. This includes all core pages, as well as managing Division, Department, Committee, Other Group, and Faculty websites that have been converted to the standard design templates. For more information, see Our Services - What We Do.

'The Web Team leaves no link unturned.' K.G. Greenstein

The Web Team, College Advancement, and IT Department work together to manage the Ohlone College website. The IT Department manages the "back end" web server hardware and software while the Web Team/College Advancement manages the "front end" design, markup, display, and accessibility of the web pages. Content for Web Team-managed websites is provided by content experts throughout the College.

The Web Team worked closely with the Web Task Force (now defunct) to design and organize the College website.
