Moving to the Newark Center Campus?

Classes at the Ohlone College Newark Center for Health Sciences and Technology begin Monday, January 28, 2008. Moves to the new campus begin in early January. The Newark Center will be open to the public in mid-January.

  • Is your Department or Program moving to the Newark Center campus?
  • Will your Department or Program be on both the Fremont and Newark campuses?
  • Are YOU moving to the Newark Center campus?
  • Will YOU be located at both the Fremont AND Newark Center campuses?

If you answered YES to any of the above questions, please begin thinking about what changes will be or are now needed on your website. Although some details (such as telephone numbers and room numbers at the Newark Center) may not be known yet, the questions below will get you started:

  • It is good to let students and others know you will be moving soon. What announcement do you want to make on your website?

  • What services or procedures will change? For students? For Ohlone College personnel? For others?

  • If your Department or Program will be split between the Fremont and Newark campuses, what services will be where? Who will handle them? Where?

  • What procedures should Newark Center students and personnel follow to get services located at the Fremont campus?

  • What procedures should Fremont campus students and personnel follow to get services located at the Newark Center?

  • Where will you be located? Campus name, department name (if changing), floor number, room number. (Floor and room numbers may need to wait until January.)

  • What will be the new telephone number? New fax number? (May need to wait until January.) To avoid confusion, DO NOT post Newark Center phone numbers on the website unless the number is forwarded to your current Fremont campus phone number.

  • At either campus, will there be new or changed faculty? support personnel? Name, title, phone number, email address, location (campus, floor, room).

  • What will be the office hours? If you'll be split between the Fremont and Newark campuses, when will you be where?

  • What other information should be provided on your Department, Program, Committee, Other Group, or faculty website?

A Checklist for Ohlone College Website Updates is also available to help you determine what information may need to be updated on your website.
