The Web Team currently manages your faculty website on the Ohlone College domain. This message announces a change in the services provided by the Web Team. Please review it carefully and let me know if you have questions.
Effective at the end of the Fall 2004 semester, the Web Team will no longer post course materials (with the exception of syllabi) on the websites it manages. Course materials include but are not limited to:
- homework assignments
- lecture notes
- lecture outlines
- study outlines
- test prep questions
- test results
- grade listings
For information about providing this type of information on a WebCT course website for student access, visit the Online Education website at http://online.ohlone.edu/onlineeducation/ or contact William Paoli or Marilena Tamburello in Online Education. A summary of Options for Faculty Websites is available at http://www.ohlone.edu/org/webcenter/facultyoptions.html.
In addition to recognizing WebCT as an important learning tool of the College (for BOTH ON-GROUND AND ONLINE classrooms), this change in Web Team service is also being made to prevent possible copyright violations when educational materials are provided on publicly-available websites (versus WebCT course websites that are restricted to students in a particular course) and to improve time/task management for the Web Team.
Web Team-managed faculty websites will continue to provide information of interest to current and potential students, as well as the Ohlone community at large:
- your schedule
- office hours
- contact information
- photograph (optional)
- a syllabus for each course you teach (optional)
- your educational background (optional)
- your bio (optional)
Please contact me if you have questions about this change. Contact Marilena or William for information about putting your course materials online using WebCT.
