Overview

Video and audio files that are not captioned or accompanied by a text transcript are no longer routinely posted or linked to on the Ohlone College website by the Web Team.

Requirements

• "Professional" video/audio must be captioned (preferred)
• "Casual" video/audio should be captioned (preferred) or accompanied by a text transcript
• "Live" video/audio will not be captioned or accompanied by a text transcript. Ohlone does not have the resources to provide live captioning or to later provide a transcript of live events. Examples: Board meetings, President's speeches, ONTV newscasts, Athletics events.

Notes

• Content Managers are responsible for captioning (preferred) or preparing a text transcript for each video/audio/media file. Make sure the cost and time for captioning is included in video/media project planning. See also Video / Audio / Multimedia on Ohlone College Websites.
• The Web Team does not do captioning or prepare text transcripts.
• If it is necessary to post a video/audio file without captioning or a text transcript (such as for Board meetings and ONTV newscasts), a message indicating stating "The video is not captioned and a transcript is not available" will be included next to the video/audio.
