What We Do...Our Services - Web Team

The Ohlone College Web Team provides a number of services to the College and its faculty and staff with regard to the College's website. If you have any questions about what we do, please contact us.

  • Manage the home page of the Ohlone College website
  • Manage the "core" pages of the website, including the A-Z Index, Resources portals, Directions, Maps, and more
  • Manage Division, Department, Committee, Other Group, and Faculty websites that have use the standard design templates (review Client List)
  • Respond to "webmaster@ohlone.edu" email messages or forward to the appropriate email address for handling
  • Publish announcements for campus news, events, and programs
  • Review and publish websites maintained by faculty/staff from the development web server (dev2) to the main web server (www2)
  • Review websites to ensure compliance with the Web Style Guide, including web accessibility and usability
  • Manage email aliases used by the formmail script for HTML forms
  • Administer/Manage the web-based Events Calendar using VTCalendar, including adding/updating/removing events
  • Administer a variety of other web-based calendars using VTCalendar, such as Transfer Events Calendar, Professional Development Calendar, and more
  • Publish in a timely fashion Electronic Board Packets for Board of Trustees meetings
  • Post in a timely fashion meeting Agendas and Minutes for the Board of Trustees, College Council, and other groups as requested
  • Post in a timely fashion job postings for Human Resources; manage updates to and remove job postings as requested
  • Every semester, update a variety of websites with much of the information provided in that semester's Class Schedule
  • Post the Catalog each year
  • Every year, update a variety of websites with much of the information provided in that year's Catalog
  • Post the Curriculum Guides each year
  • Attend meetings of and contribute to a variety of committees, task forces, and other groups/projects
  • Answer questions of faculty and staff with the responsibility of creating and maintaining Division, Department, Committee, or Other Group websites on the Ohlone College domain
  • Coordinate and troubleshoot user accounts for the development web server with the IT Department
  • Assist the IT Department with design and user interface-related issues of their web applications and projects
  • Manage the Web Style Guide which provides rules for basic content, branding and web accessibility
  • Manage the Web Center which provides educational resources related to web technologies
  • Work with the Web Task Force to set website policies and procedures
