Mark Lieu, Dean - Language, Communication, and Academic Success Division
Mark Wade Lieu has been at Ohlone College since 1989. He was originally hired to start the English as a Second Language program. In addition to teaching, Mark has served as the president of the Ohlone College Faculty Senate and as the president of the statewide Academic Senate for California Community Colleges. He worked in the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office for 18 months, his primary function being the grant monitor for the Basic Skills Initiative. He was hired as Dean of the Language, Communication, and Academic Success Division at Ohlone in June of 2012.
Mark has Masters Degrees in Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language and in Instructional Technology, both from San Francisco State University.
He has been the webmaster for the ESL professional organization California Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (CATESOL) since 1994.
