Ohlone College Auditions for Chicago, the Musical
Fremont, Calif., August 27, 2019—Ohlone College’s Theatre & Dance and Music departments are holding auditions for Chicago, the Musical, book by Fred Ebb & Bob Fosse, music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb.
Auditions will be held on Saturday, October 5, and Sunday, October 6 at the Smith Center on Ohlone College’s Fremont campus located at 43600 Mission Blvd. Actors should prepare 16-32 bars and bring their sheet music (accompanist will be provided) and can also prepare an optional 90-second monologue. There are 19 roles available and dance ensemble positions to fill. To set up an audition time, email: email@example.com, however, drop-ins are also welcome!
Vocal Auditions: October 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and October 6 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Dance Auditions: October 5 from 2:30 to 5 p.m. and October 6 from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.
Callbacks will be held on Saturday, October, 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Rehearsals will begin on January 27, 2020 and will mostly be held Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Technical rehearsals, once they begin, will include Fridays as well. Performances will be April 2020 with the following dates: 4/17, 4/18, 4/23, 4/24 & 4/25, 2020, at 8 p.m., with a matinee performance on 4/19 at 2 p.m. All cast members must enroll in TD-126, which is a 4-unit class.
The creative team for this production includes Michael Navarra, Director; Janel Tomblin-Brown, Choreographer; Tim Roberts, Music Director; Janet Holmes, Vocal Director; Fred Alim, Set Designer, Matt O’ Donnell, Lighting Designer, and Tamara Cooper, Costume Designer.
