Dear Ohlone Family,
In a time of uncertainty, I want to provide you with up-to-date information on what we have ahead of us during this challenging period.
The College has made the decision to extend campus closure until the end of the spring semester. All on-campus services and operations are included in the suspension. Only those employees defined as essential staff are on campus. This includes campus police, some of our payroll employees, some facilities personnel, and staff assigned to pick-up mail that is critical to the operation of the College. While both campuses are physically closed, we continue all campus services, instruction, and student services remotely.
College has also decided to move all summer session classes to remote instruction. Registration dates have been extended with registration for current students beginning on May 14th and new student registration beginning on May 18th. summer term begins on June 15th.
While we had originally hoped that this transition would be relatively brief, the health and well-being of our community is of highest importance, and we want to do everything possible to protect you from the possible transmission of COVID-19. We will consider re-opening the campus as we assess the situation in our local community. While this is an interruption to our normal operations, it is a small sacrifice to make to protect your health and safety.
This is a difficult time for us all, but I want you to know that we will get through this. Although we are socially and physically isolated from one another, our thoughts are united in hope for the future.
