What is High School/2+2 Articulation?

The High School Articulation program offers courses that students can take at their local high school or Regional Occupational Program (ROP) for which they can choose to receive Ohlone College credit. For most courses, students need to earn a a grade of B or better and/or take an exam to receive Ohlone College credit. Before an Articulation is signed, the high school instructor and an Ohlone College faculty member agree that the course meets the learning objectives equivalent to an introductory Ohlone College course. Articulated courses can help students start their journey to earning a degree or certificate that will prepare them for success in a career, while paying no tuition or fees for those credits.

Steps for Getting Ohlone College Credit

If you are currently enrolled in a 2+2 course at your high school or Mission Valley ROP, you could be eligible to receive Ohlone College credit for completing this class. The steps are simple, and the payoff is tremendous. Not only will you save money, but you will also save time by not having to repeat the course again in college.

  1. Meet Academic Requirements
In order to receive credit for this class, you will need to earn an B or higher in the class and pass the "Credit by Examination" requirement. The exam could be anything from a report or project to a test. Your instructor will provide you with detailed information about the "Credit by Examination" requirement.

  2. Submit an Ohlone College Application
You must apply for admissions in the term you are taking the class, via OpenCCCApply. Once you have received your welcome email with your Ohlone Student ID Number, follow the instructions for New Student Admissions and Registration.

  3. Complete "2+2 Student Contract for Credit"
If you meet the academic requirements in Step 1 (earned a B or higher and pass the Credit by Examination), your instructor will provide you with the 2+2 Student Contract for Credit (PDF). Please complete this form and return it to your instructor before the last day of class.
