Benefits Committee

The Benefits Committee is a committee whose goal is to meet with representatives of and advise the Department of Human Resources and facilitate communication between the Department of Human Resources and the Ohlone College District concerning benefit issues.

The committee members consist of confidential, managers, classified staff, and faculty members. The criteria in selecting committee members will include willingness to study issues in order to reach informed conclusions; openness to the collaboration necessary to reach balanced solutions; the ability to consider a wide range of, at times competing, interests fairly; and the desire both to disseminate information about the committee's work to employee groups, and to collect feedback and ideas from employee groups to bring to the committee.


The Mission of Ohlone College Benefits Committee is to assist the District in providing affordable, quality benefits to all eligible employees and to foster and encourage preventative and wellness programs for all employees. The Benefits Committee will investigate ways to contain costs and to improve benefits for eligible employees. The committee will recommend to the District any changes to employee benefits and plan providers.
