Ohlone College's Tri-Cities Career Center provides computers with internet access to assist you in your job search. Each computer is equipped with Microsoft Office Suite. The career center also provides a telephone, E-fax, fax, and scanner services for job search.

Perfecting the Interview
Brush up on existing knowledge and discover proven and effective strategies/techniques to prepare job seekers for the “lifecycle” (before, during and after) of an interview.
Information sessions bring company recruiters onto campus allowing you to get in-depth information on their business. These sessions allow you to get insight into a company’s organizational culture, current employment and internship openings, career pathways, and their hiring process. Information sessions also provide networking opportunities between you and company representatives.

Career Fairs are offered to assist you in meeting and connecting with local employers for jobs and internships. The Career Center provides career fairs that are open to all industries as well as targeted career fairs that have included healthcare, and seasonal employment. The Career Center's two big career fairs take place in September and May. To assist you to prepare for the next career fair, the Career Center offers career fair prep workshops and webinars.

Employer tabling provides you an opportunity to meet and network with local employers who have current employment and internships opportunities. These in-person interactions provide you with an opportunity to discuss your skills, qualifications, and experiences with company representatives. These events allow you to share your resume and potentially set-up an interview with the company.

Drop-in Interviews allow you the opportunity to interview with up to 4 different company representatives in a short amount of time. Similar to speed networking, drop-in interviews are coordinated in 15-minute intervals, and you decide which companies to meet. This recruitment platform favors the job seeker because of the emphasis it places on the recruiter to extend an employment offer before their desired candidate moves on and speaks to other another employer.

Industry forums are panel discussions of industry-specific employers discussing their particular industry and workforce trends. Panelist represent major employers and discuss relevant employment trends, desired skills, employment outlooks and strategies for obtaining employment with their companies.

Ohlone College Tri-Cities Career Center can provide you with a criminal background check for your job-search activities. No fee for individuals enrolled in the WIOA program. (This service will be made available soon)
Ohlone College Career Center offers a variety of assessment testing tools to evaluate the level of your knowledge for specific job-related skills. Assessments include Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word, typing test, data entry, and ten key.

For individuals pursuing degrees from in-demand occupations, Ohlone College Tri-Cities Career Center may be able to pay enrollment fees for your final year or final semester at Ohlone College. Ohlone College Tri-Cities Career Center also offers a number of job training opportunities that can provide you with industry-recognized credentials for in-demand occupations. These trainings will offer you new or upgraded skills to make you more competitive in your job search. On-the-Job Training is a training option that offers you hands-on work-based learning. Training is designed and provided to you by an employer. OJT funds can be leveraged as an incentive for a business to bring you on as an employee. Check-in with the Career Center to see if an appropriate employer is a right fit for you.

Supportive Services are used to enable an individual’s successful participation in career and training activities. Approval of supportive services will be determined on an individual basis. Supportive Services may only be provided to individuals who are enrolled in the WIOA program and are receiving career services and/or training services.
Premier Career Services staff have 15 years of experience providing career services to job seekers and employee referrals to employers in the San Francisco Bay Area. California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids CalWORKs encourages personal responsibility and accountability. It is committed to helping individuals receive an education and instruction that will provide employment opportunities. CalWORKs promotes short-term training, as well as life-long learning. The ultimate goal of the program is to assist CalWORKs students with vocational and educational training programs, which will lead to self-sufficiency.
