Same Melody, New Voice: New Conductor Leads Ohlone Chamber Singers

Fremont, CA-For 25 consecutive years, the critically acclaimed Ohlone Chamber Singers have given breathtaking holiday performances at the Old Mission San Jose under the baton of founding conductor Dennis Keller. This year, during Keller's leave of absence from the Ohlone Chamber Singers, the group will be led by Michael Morris for their 26th Annual Christmas at Mission Concert.

Michael Morris is a well known and respected conductor, director, voice teacher, and professional baritone who has worked in the SF Bay Area for over 34 years. Morris received his Masters in Music in Vocal Performance from College of Notre Dame, Belmont and his Bachelor of Music from San Francisco State in Vocal Education.

He served as the Music Director for Los Altos Conservatory Theater, the Lyric Theatre of San Jose, and worked as the Stage Director for Mission City Opera. In addition to his new role as the Ohlone Chamber Singers conductor, he currently teaches private voice at his own studio, the Michael Morris Studio.

This year, under the direction of Morris, the Ohlone Chamber Singers will perform an eclectic array of music, featuring Schubert's Magnificat and the Rutter's Gloria with a full, ten-piece brass ensemble. Join us for this holiday tradition as Christmas at the Mission takes on leadership with Michael Morris. Join in on the celebration Saturday, December 17 at 8:00pm and Sunday, December 18 at 4:00pm at Old Mission San Jose, in Fremont.
