Paul Posnak.Fremont, CA-With a distinguished career as a concert pianist and recording artist in both classical and jazz traditions, Paul Posnak brings his internationally recognized improvisations and incisive rhythms to the Smith Center at Ohlone College. Posnak is noted for playing repertoire that mixes twentieth century American music with European romantic classics. He is also well known for his creative improvisations and note-for-note transcriptions of the great American jazz pianist-composers of the 1920s and 1930s. The Washington Post describes his performance as playing "with respect, and passion, readings that are as notable for their musicality and their artistic integrity as for his pianism."

A child prodigy, Paul Posnak's concert pianist career began at the age of eight with a scholarship from Julliard Preparatory School of Music. He later earned his doctoral degree from Julliard and won the Loeb Prize, Julliard's highest award. He gained national recognition for his performances in multiple venues, including the White House and Supreme Court. Posnak has worked with many world-renowned vocalists, including Luciano Pavarotti and performed with many of the world's leading orchestras and chamber ensembles. In addition, he is also a professor of keyboard performance and director of the accompanying chamber music program at the University of Miami's Frost School of Music.

Paul Posnak is no ordinary concert pianist. He is a musical delight and adds a creative twist to familiar piano compositions! Tickets are available online or at the box office. Please visit, or call the Smith Center Box Office at (510) 659-6031 for more information.
