Office of College Advancement
Fremont, CA-Senate Majority Leader Senator Ellen Corbett will head a roundtable discussion of two competing education propositions on the November ballot, Propositions 30 and 38. The discussion will center on the impacts that these propositions will likely have on publicly funded education, with a special focus on community colleges. Senator Corbett brings the unique perspective of the workings of Sacramento, how Propositions affect the state budget, and how changes in the budget will affect public education in the future.
Senator Corbett will be joined at the table by Ohlone College President Dr. Gari Browning, and representatives from college faculty, Trustees, students, staff and administration.
After initial presentations from Senator Corbett and several of the panelists, there will be a question and answer session, guided by a moderator, and an opportunity for brief responses from the audience.
The event is open to the public and community members are encouraged to attend.
