Process for Clearing Prerequisites - Counseling Department

Happy Graduates!

How to clear a Pre-requisite

  1. The student meets with a counselor during drop-in hours or during a counseling appointment and provides documentation showing completed requirements for the prerequisite, which would include: transcripts, course descriptions, and syllabus.

  2. In most cases, the counselor can evaluate whether the prerequisite requirements have or have not been met and will clear the student if appropriate.

  3. If unable to determine whether requirements are met, or in cases where the student disagrees with the counselor's determination, the counselor will refer the request to the appropriate Division Dean.

  4. The Division Dean refers the request to the discipline faculty who make the final determination. The Division notifies the student and clears the student for enrollment if warranted.
