Emergency Student Relief Fund

The Emergency Student Relief Fund was established and designed to provide immediate financial assistance to Ohlone College students in need. Throughout the pandemic, we have helped hundreds of students by providing financial assistance grants, Chromebook computers, and wi-fi hotspots. However, with the pandemic continuing unabated, our students still very much need your help.

Refugee Assistance Fund

The Refugee Assistance Fund is designed to provide financial support to Ohlone College refugee students. Recently, the U.S. government has taken in over 55,000 refugees from Afghanistan, and we anticipate many of them to relocate here in Fremont. With your help, we can increase our ability to provide financial support to Ohlone College refugee students in need.

Testimonials

I thank you for awarding me this scholarship. I am a student from Myanmar, and out-of-state tuition in the United States can be quite overwhelming. In addition, living expenses are also to be taken into account, especially for the international students. This scholarship surely does not cover my tuition at Ohlone, but it definitely does put me in a better financial position. All in all, I am very grateful. Aung Pyae Phyo, 2021 Jones Hamilton Co. Chemistry and Engineering Scholarship
This year has been one of the hardest we have ever experiences, and for many of us, we had to face many financial issues due to COVID, so when I received word that I got the Ohlone Promise Scholarship, well I was very ecstatic about this news. In all honesty, my pursuit for my career in computer science wouldn’t have been possible without this scholarship and I am truly grateful for it. Koby Galvan, 2021 Ohlone Promise Cohort
Being a single parent and returning to school after many years it has been a challenge to maintain school and family life. ... This scholarship will lighten the financial burden that will allow me to focus more on my school and children. I look forward to giving back to the community once I begin my career in the business area. Once again, thank you for your confidence and willingness to help me achieve my goals. Hina Arif, 2018 Deeksha Inc. Re-entry Scholarship
[The Promise] impacted my life in many positive ways. I'm not the first person in my family to attend college, but I am the first person to attend college in the U.S. For me, having to pay tuition was something I really worried about because my family only made enough money to just slightly live comfortably in the bay area. The scholarship allowed me to just focus on my grades without having to worry about the extra costs of books or tuition. It definitely took the burden off of my family's shoulders. Claudine Pineda, 2017 Ohlone Promise Cohort
