Kristine (Kristi) Vanderhoof has taught English and English as a Second Language since 2010, and she has been teaching at Ohlone College since Spring 2015. She loves working at a community college since she was a community college student herself. She attended Cabrillo College and transferred to University of California Santa Cruz where she studied Creative Writing with an emphasis in Poetry. She then obtained a Master of Arts in Linguistics with an emphasis in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Fresno State. She is a member of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and the California Acceleration Project (CAP). She speaks fluent Spanish, and after obtaining her masters, she taught English in Oaxaca, Mexico for two years. Her favorite pastimes are writing poetry and creative non-fiction, dancing, hiking, cycling, camping, swimming in snow-melt lakes with a wetsuit on, and reading good books.
