For information about serving as a tutor, tutor training, and additional learning centers and labs, see Tutoring Services.
Did You Know…?
Ohlone has the highest rate of success among its 25 statewide peers of community colleges for students who started a basic skills math course and then were successful in transfer level math. Source: California Community Colleges Student Success Scorecard.
Math Learning Center Programs
The MLC provides drop-in tutoring for all Ohlone math courses. Just log in on the Timekeeper computer (it takes less than 30 seconds), get out your work, raise your hand and a tutor will come and help you. You do not need to sign-up in advance or make an appointment. Our tutors are a combination of Ohlone students, Ohlone math instructors, and classified staff.

Equipment in the Math Learning Center
25 personal computers are available for lab work and research. Our computers are loaded with math software such as Maple, Matlab and Mathematica. There are also tutorial programs for some math courses. Many courses have online learning resources and MLC staff can help you get started with these programs.
DVDs and Videos
Math related video lectures and tutorial materials are available to view in the Math Center.
Printers & Copiers
As of the Fall 2011 semester, student printing will use the Pcounter WebPay instead of GoPrint cards.
A $1 bill is required to initially purchase a GoPrint card; of that $1, $0.50 (50¢) pays for the GoPrint card, leaving $0.50 (50¢) credit on the GoPrint card. Students may add value to the print card with a bill; the GoPrint card machine does not accept coins or credit cards. The MLC does not have a cash register or change machine.
Printed pages and copies are $0.10 (10¢) per page for black and white.
Students interested in applying for math student assistant positions, contact the Math Learning Center Assistant for more information.
