Professor Mumford attended Western Michigan University receiving his bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis on real estate. After graduating, he embarked upon a successful career in real estate. Before beginning to teach in 2002 at the community college level, Jay worked for several national real estate companies in various markets including Chicago, Denver, San Francisco and Walnut Creek over the course of 15 years.

Jay has taught all the real estate courses required for Calif. DRE agent and broker licensing as well as several business courses.

Here's what one recent student had to say about class with Mr. Mumford:
“Jay is an amazing teacher. He cares and wants you to succeed. I call this type of teacher a 'helper in this world.' No questions are dumb. He listens and then answers and provides real life examples. As an older returning student, his style of communication was most welcome.”
