The Ohlone College volleyball team had their first home match on Saturday afternoon when they played Alameda College. After a tough loss on Friday, morale was low and it was uncertain how the team would react competing just one day later. The first game did not provide much hope when our team lost 21-25. However, they bounced back in the second game winning 25-17 and improved consistently throughout the match. The next two games were won fairly quickly, 25-13 and 25-17.
Brittany Creel, who had been out for two weeks prior to Fridays game, impressed with 11 kills and 2 aces. Lindsey Calabrese led digs with a total of 24 and Emily Marden had 35 assists.
The Lady Renegades were relieved and proud to have won their first home game. They have started the season off well with a 2-1 record so far. This wasn't an easy win by any means, and even though this years team seems to be especially strong and talented, the competition is also improving immensely so the Renegades will have to be on their A game, every game.
