About Us

Outreach events are coordinated and managed by the Office of College Advancement at Ohlone College and are supported through Student Services. Our main objective is to inform prospective students and the community to the many academic programs, noncredit courses, and career pathways and resources there are available to achieve individual success. We work closely with local high schools in the Tri-Cities community, community activity centers, and various local organizations to get the word out about all that makes Ohlone their community college and how they can create their pathway to success!

What We Do

General Outreach We provide outreach services to local high schools and community organizations and events. Through sharing information about our campus, student services, academic success, and the overall benefits of obtaining a college education, we help prepare prospective students for a successful transition to college. We provide online Ohlone 101 sessions via Zoom, offer in-class introductions to Ohlone with time for Q&A, attend high school and community event tabling where our representatives can answer your questions about Ohlone, and also provide detailed information about Financial Aid and Career Education services the College offers. We work with faculty with popular classes and programs and help introduce them and what their courses offer to the community. And, we can't forget sharing about the amazing Career Center at Ohlone College where our staff offer individuals throughout the Tri-City with career services including career & entrepreneurship advising, job/internship search & career readiness webinars, connection to local and regional employers, and access to scholarships for certificate programs. At Ohlone, we have a lot to offer our students and we're here to help explain it all!

College & Career Fairs We participate in local college fairs representing Ohlone College to provide information about our campus services and programs. We also participate in local fairs focusing on certificate and workforce development programs.

Application Workshops We offer college workshops at high schools during spring to assist graduating seniors in completing our application process and taking the next steps to enroll at Ohlone.

Campus Tours If you are interested in seeing what our campus has to offer in person, schedule a tour with one of our Peer Mentors.

Peer Mentor Program Current Ohlone students visit local high schools to share their experiences, talk about campus programs and resources, and assist new students and parents in the transition to college.

Freshman Days This event allows high school seniors to register early for fall classes at Ohlone, and features a parent/family orientation as well.

Welcome Day All new students are invited to participate in this exciting and informative experience. Students will attend interactive workshops and activities to help make a smooth transition to college.

Student Follow-Up Our staff, counselors, and Peer Mentors follow-up with new and prospective students to help connect them with support programs and services on campus.
