About the Mobility Respiratory Therapist Program

Students working in the Human Simulation Lab. The Respiratory Therapist Mobility Program at Ohlone College prepares Certified Respiratory Therapists (CRT) to advance their education to be eligible for the examinations for Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) given by the National Board for Respiratory Care.

Upon completion of all Respiratory Care and Associate's Degree requirements, Mobility Program graduates are eligible sit for NBRC's advanced level examination system. CRTs are required to complete a "Bridge Course" via online education and must work with program faculty to document their entry level knowledge and skills prior to entering second year classes.

Mobility students who have already completed this program have found course scheduling compatible with their work schedules; if sufficient numbers are available to enroll in a given semester, special "mobility" class sections are given. Most clinical requirements can generally be documented at the CRT's current work facility and advanced standing for specialty work experience (ie. Pulmonary Function Testing) is available.
