Overview

Ohlone College Student Accessibility Services (SAS) is designed to open the doors to educational and occupational opportunities for students with disabilities.

Our primary purpose is to provide an opportunity for all SAS students to gain maximum benefit from their educational experience.

Educational accommodations are provided to eligible SAS students to help them achieve their educational and vocational goals.

Student with disabilities are encouraged to use the resources of SAS and should contact SAS as soon as they decide to come to Ohlone College, so that SAS staff can assist with the steps for determining eligibility and educational accommodations.

The SAS office is dedicated to providing equal access and reasonable accommodations for educational and programmatic opportunities to students with disabilities on campus while promoting self-advocacy and independence.

 

Current SAS Students:

To schedule an appointment with an SAS Counselor, please call 510-659-6079 or email us at sas@ohlone.edu (include your name, student ID# and reason for the appointment). The counseling appointment will be done remotely. You will be given the option of Zoom or Phone appointment.

 

New SAS Students 

To apply for services from SAS, please follow these steps:

  1. FILL OUT AN APPLICATION TO OHLONE COLLEGE
    online: https://www.ohlone.edu/admissions/newstudents
    *You will receive a Student ID# in 1-3 business days via email
     
  2. EMAIL DOCUMENTATION VERIFYING YOUR DISABILITY TO sas@ohlone.edu
    • IEP or 504 Plan and
    • Psycho-Educational Report
    • Latest High School Transcript

      OR

    • Medical Documentation signed by a medical professional
    • Latest High School Transcript

       
  3. SET UP YOUR WEBADVISOR ACCOUNT AND TAKE THE PLACEMENT SUMMARY and ORIENTATION
    • The Placement Summary must be completed before your intake appointment with one of our SAS Counselors.

  4. COMPLETE THE INTAKE APPOINTMENT WITH A SAS COUNSELOR

Once your documentation has been reviewed and you have completed the Placement Assessment, you will be contacted via email by the SAS Program Assistant to schedule you an intake appointment.
