The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Division is comprised of over 40 full time faculty and staff. The division offers 13 Associates degrees, more than 20 different certificates and 11 different programs through 10 academic departments.
Our concern for student success is supported by functional tutorial/learning centers in biology/chemistry, mathematics and physics/engineering where peer tutors are available to assist students enrolled in our courses.
Our natural and life science departments recognize and support the important and integral role of laboratory and/or field experiences in the curriculum. Our Biotechnology Programs serve as model training programs in our region. In addition to the academic degree and certificates, we offer the LAB Program or Learning Alliance for Bioscience, creating education pathways for high school students, and the Northern California Regional Biotechnology Training Center providing job training and skills upgrades to biotech professionals.
A high percentage of our students successfully transfer into baccalaureate programs in anthropology, biology, chemistry, geology, engineering, mathematics and physics. The Science, Engineering, and Mathematics Division supports Ohlone College's mission by offering general education, transfer education and career/occupational education for the community.
