In mid-May 2013, the Office of Student Life started our very first food pantry-The Ohlone Pantry (TOP)- to help feed students in need. Since then, TOP has has provided food assistance to many students. There is definitely a need out there and we are thankful to the Ohlone Community and the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office Hunger Free Fund for helping to meet that need.
Who can receive Food?
Any Ohlone College student can receive food.
Where can I receive Food Assistance?
On the Fremont campus at the Office of Student Life located in Building 7, second floor. The office window is open Monday through Thursday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. Please be prepared to present your Ohlone College student ID card or your Ohlone Student ID Number.

How will TOP obtain Food Donations?
In order to stock our food pantry, we will be collecting canned food and non-perishable items. We will solicit donations from stores as well as donations from the community and campus personnel. We will also use social media, email, fliers and word of mouth.
We will accept canned food and non-perishable items such as rice, pasta, peanut butter, cereal, instant noodle soups, crackers, non-refrigerated juice, etc. Also welcome are gift cards to these stores:
- 99 Ranch
- Big Lots
- Dollar Store
- Food Maxx
- Grocery Outlet
- Smart & Final
- Trader Joe's
Monetary and gift card donations will be used to buy food to stock the pantry.
The Office of Student Life is always accepting donations of canned food and non-perishable items. Please bring your items to the:
- Fremont Campus: Office of Student Life, Building 7, second floor
- Newark Campus: ASOC Recreation Room, first floor, next the café
All monetary donations (cash, checks) should be given to the Ohlone College Foundation. Checks should be made out to the "Ohlone College Foundation"; please put "TOP" on the check. When purchases are made for the pantry, funds will be made available by the Ohlone College Foundation.
