Richard was elected to the Ohlone Community College District Board of Trustees in November 2006. Richard has been involved in the community for over 15 years, having served as president of Stage 1 Community Theater, president of the Newark Educational Foundation, and chair of the Newark Days Parade.
Richard has worked over 20 years in higher education. Currently, he is the Executive Director of Alumni & Constituent Engagement at Cal State East Bay. Previously, he worked in student affairs at both private and public universities in the Bay Area where he worked directly with students, families, faculty, and staff to assist students in achieving academic success.
While working full time for Cal State East Bay, he also works part time as a Realtor in the Tri-City area, and is involved actively at his son's school.
Richard holds a Bachelor's degree from Cal State East Bay and a Master's in Higher Education Administration from the University of Mississippi. Richard lives in Newark with his son.
